I consult Marisa's site all the time for canning advice, though, so I'll have to give this jam a try! Have you tried that combo yet? It's herbal and sweet all at the same time. Great with cheese.
http://www.foodinjars.com/2010/04/april-can-jam-rosemary-rhubarb-jam/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2809435229390094618.post-35952350258589833442013-05-30T09:06:28.038-05:002013-05-30T09:06:28.038-05:00I will try to save the last jar! Hopefully, there will be strawberries at the market soon, and then I'll be able to make more jam to keep the supply up.

Yes, that is the challah I made a little while ago. It's from the Oma and Bella cookbook. It's really, really good. I had to stop Octavian from eating more of it the afternoon I baked it so that there would be some left for breakfast (and the photo above) the next morning. I wasn't planning on writing a post about it, but I am thinking about it now. It'll have to wait until the next time I make it, though. I didn't take any photos.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02728857878966566813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2809435229390094618.post-14723964081149188832013-05-30T09:01:05.883-05:002013-05-30T09:01:05.883-05:00This batch of jam was my first time water-bath can...This batch of jam was my first time water-bath canning. I've never had a pot tall enough to accommodate standard-sized jars. It took forever to get the water boiling, but after that, it was a snap!Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02728857878966566813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2809435229390094618.post-60380341678070023282013-05-29T00:25:57.244-05:002013-05-29T00:25:57.244-05:00PS Is that the challah you made?? Back in my dorm days I remember resenting how I wouldn't be able to get enjoy and cook through 3 out of 4 the seasons of the year. It makes a difference, being able to play around with whatever fruits and vegetables are available!

And this looks heavenly. I hope you get the chance to save some for January -- I think you should hide some away if you have to! It will taste so good and make you so proud to be able to taste something this fresh when the streets have so much snow. I love the idea of that, and I hope I get around to making something that will last beyond a day or two.Amyhttp://themoveablefeasts.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2809435229390094618.post-56366296191787026612013-05-27T17:01:35.929-05:002013-05-27T17:01:35.929-05:00I love the idea of storing away little pots of sum...I love the idea of storing away little pots of summer to enjoy in the depths of winter. You're right, there is something magical about that. I have always loved making jam, but not the actual canning process. I must give it a try so my jams can last.
